Terms of Use
LAST UPDATED: 8 JULY 2026
Welcome to Potted Club. These terms set out the basis on which you can use our website and its content. By using the site, you accept these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.
Who we are
Potted Club is a small-space gardening website and newsletter, currently operated independently by its founder ("we", "us", "our"). Potted Club is not yet incorporated as a company. You can contact us at hello@potted.club.
Our content is general gardening information, not professional advice
This is the most important thing on this page, so we've put it near the top.
Everything on Potted Club, including our guides, blog articles, and newsletter, is provided for general information and educational purposes only. It is not professional horticultural, botanical, medical, or veterinary advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified expert about your specific situation.
Gardening results depend on conditions we can't see or control, such as your climate, light, soil, water, and the specific plant you have. What works for us may not work for you. You use our guidance at your own discretion and risk.
Plants, food, and safety
Because we write about growing edible plants as well as houseplants, please take particular care with the following. This matters, so please read it.
- Never eat, forage, or otherwise consume a plant based on our content alone. Plants can be misidentified, and some edible plants have dangerous lookalikes. Always confirm a plant's identity and edibility with an authoritative, up-to-date source, or a qualified expert, before eating any part of it.
- Many plants are toxic to people, and to pets and children in particular, whether eaten or handled. Before bringing a plant into your home or garden, check whether it is safe for everyone, and every animal, who lives there.
- Allergies and sensitivities vary. A plant that's harmless to most people may not be to you.
If you are ever unsure whether a plant is safe to eat, handle, or keep, treat it as unsafe until you've confirmed otherwise. If you suspect poisoning, contact a doctor, your vet, or emergency services straight away.
We are not liable for any harm arising from the identification, consumption, handling, or growing of any plant based on our content. Responsibility for what you grow, eat, and keep rests with you.
Using the site
You may read, share, and link to our content for your own personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:
- Use the site in any way that is unlawful, or that could damage or disrupt it.
- Copy, reproduce, or republish substantial parts of our content, including our photographs, without our permission.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or its systems.
Intellectual property
The content on Potted Club, including text, photographs, illustrations, and branding, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other rights. Our photographs in particular are our own work; please don't reuse them commercially or republish them without our written permission. You're welcome to link to our pages.
Links to other sites
Our content sometimes links to external websites, such as horticultural and gardening organisations. We include these because we think they're useful, but we don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or their handling of your data. A link isn't an endorsement of everything on the linked site.
Accuracy and availability
We research and test our content carefully and aim to keep it accurate and current, but we don't warrant that it is complete, error-free, or up to date at all times, and gardening guidance can change. We may update or remove content at any time. We also don't guarantee that the site will always be available or uninterrupted.
Our liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or harm arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its content, including anything you grow, eat, handle, or keep as a result. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page is the one that applies. We'll update the "last updated" date when we make changes.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales.
